I saw them live less than a week ago. I've followed their career for years. They are incredibly talented. I think you will be pleasantly surprised.

Apocalyptica does something with metal music that we love that no other band has done, watch them on you tube, they actually rock pretty hard for classical instruments

I just joined, that was my first post, I'm a huge metal fan, and kinda came across Apocalyptica by accident. I got on youtube and watched quite a few videos of them, and they actually really rock, I wouldn't mind seeing them live at all. When you can play dime solos or kirk hammet solos on a cello note for note, I think that's talent

To each his own, I enjoy them, I do think it's a little funny/lame that they headbang playing the cellos, but although I am quite a talented musician (if I do say so myself), I know I could not do what they do.

They are extremely talented. I'm likely biased because the cello is one of my favorite instruments. Youtube does have a lot of great videos of them. You should check them out. If you like them great. If not, great. We are all entitled to our own opinions. Some people just aren't respectful of that. My personal favorite song is Path w/ out vocals. I think the vocals take away from it.

The first song I heard from them was Life Burns in my Burnout Revenge game. I fucking love that song, but I havn't actually took the time to look more up on them yet. Their new song I'm not Jesus is okay, but I'm not sure that represents their sound completely since Corey Taylor is the guest vocalist on that song.

I can see why you don't take 'em seriously. HOWEVER, classical music IS the foundation for modern metal. Listen to Betoven. He's got some heavy shit goin' on for him. And Bach ain't bad either. Anyways, if there is a band out there that deserves to be called 'unique' it is DEFINITLY Apocalyptica.

Great live show, saw em about 2 weeks ago. Been listening to em for years. Although my view of them may be a little skewed because i've played cello for about 15 years. Although my guitar is my main piece. But anyway, APOCALYPTICA RULES!!! PS, Dave Lombardo plays drums on a track on the new album.
