IN THIS MOMENT JUST POSTED A BULLETIN:
We have received a ton of messages in response to our Ozzfest 2008 announcement - there have been lots of questions and some confusion regarding Ozzfest 2008 and we feel that they need to be addressed. First off everyone is asking if Ozzfest 2008 is a one day show or if its a full tour - YES Ozzfest this year is ONE DAY August 9th in Dallas Texas. The fact that it will only be one day this year seems to have really pissed off a lot of people who don't live in Texas. We understand being disappointed about something like this because Ozzfest has become something a lot of people have come to count on every year. It's ok to be disappointed. We get it. We would love to tour the whole country with this amazing package too, but guess what.....it's only one show this year so we have to deal with it. The people who are bashing Ozzy and Sharon with words like "betrayed" or "fucked over" are way out of line. Ozzy and Sharon created this innovative festival that gave metal and rock lovers across the U.S. a chance to see a bunch of awesome bands each year. They also gave numerous underground bands a chance to play in front of thousands of people who otherwise would have never known about them, they blazed the trail for every other hard rock/metal festival out there today and they even made it free last year, people should show a little respect. Ozzy has been on tour for 11 months - if he decides not to do a full Ozzfest tour this year that's his business. Ozzy and Sharon have given In This Moment some amazing opportunities over the last 2 years and we have nothing but the utmost respect for them and what they do. That being said please stop sending messages bashing Ozzfest or the Osbourne's, we wont post them, so it's a waste of your time. We love our fans and we know some of you are disappointed so let me assure you, we will be touring our asses off starting in September and we will be coming to your town. Hang tight, we love you all, see you soon.

No problem with that at all...the problem is being lied to and fed half truths on this board...and being told things like "no one will be disappointed"....that was bullshit from the start...being given the impression that there would be a touring Ozzfest this year is the cause of the anger. If that was acknowledged, it would be a lot easier for people to accept the current situation.

Ozzy rocks , and I didn't get on here and bitch when Ozzfest didn't play Dallas in 2006 .... I felt truly honored to attend the 2005 Ozzfest and get a chance to see Black Sabbath , BLS , Rob Zombie , Velvet Revolver , and all the rest .
Always appreciate Ozzy and Sharon for keeping a metal jamfest on tour every summer for as long as they have .

Metal masters is the best tour out there this year. testamnet, Mortorhead, Sabbath with Dio and Judas Priest. For fucks sake, that's a great tour.

All I can say is that I have enjoyed every Ozzfest I have been lucky enough to have gotten to and last year fuckin' rocked...I am disappointed that I can't take my wife to her second Ozzfest but hey we got to go last year for free and we lucked out and got pavilion seats so get real people Ozzy gives his fans everything he has when he is able. So give the man a break and wait until next year if you can't make it to the show in Texas this year...YOU FUCKIN' ROCK OZZY!!!!!!!!!!

one day people will realize that most people are pissed that some notice should have been given and not told ohhh ozzfest 08 coming soon............... that is out of line my friend and yes we need to show ozzy respect and in return we need that back thats how it works

I'm just as disappointed as anyone about OZZFEST not being a touring festival. But I look at it this way, OZZY did just do a 4 or 5 month US arena tour with Rob Zombie, his first tour in that format since 2001. (U.S. anyway). So in reality, many of us got to see OZZY twice last year, and in most cases were treated to longer sets than at OZZFEST, (9 at fest, 12 in arena) So we got the OZZY part of OZZFEST early. As for the rest of the OZZFEST day, there are more metal package tours this year than ever, Masters of Metal, Monster Meyhem, Gigantour, and as far as I know, Family Values will still happen this year. So though were not getting THE OZZFEST, we're getting lots of OZZFEST'S children. I attended OZZFEST last year and the half OZZFEST OZZY solo show in KC in 2006. I've seen OZZY solo three times in two years now. I'm cool with that. Let him rest up a bit. OZZFEST 2009 he'll be freaking out, chomping at the bit because he hasn't been on stage in year and maybe, just maybe the mighty OZZY will return with the mighty BLACK SABBATH. So I'm not pissed at OZZ or Sharon, or any of the bands on OZZFEST, except one DAMN YOU METALLICA, YOU FUCKING TOUR EUROPE EVERY GOD DAMN YEAR AND HAVEN'T GIVEN THE USA ANY ATTENTION IN FOUR FUCKING YEARS! TOUR THE U.S! And now to METAL MASTERS, 15 DATES? YOU GUYS HAVE TO DO ANOTHER LEG OF TOURING AND COME TO KC! HEAVEN AND HELL DID THREE US LEGS LAST YEAR AND NO KC AT ALL! IF 989 THE ROCK ASKS YOU ABOUT FREAKER'S BALL IN OCTOBER SAY YES! PRIEST YOU RULL KC LOVES YOU, COME TOO!

True that, but Ozzy does not have to perform at Ozzfest. If he says that he cannot do a Ozzfest tour because of how long he's been touring already, I understand that. I'm sick of talking about this so I guess I'm just going to wait for a year to see what is going to happen

I agree. Ozzzy does not have to prform on ozzfest. In fact I would rather him not and have another headliner that is young enough to put on a great show. I have seen ozzy perform since 1999 and after the first few years I would leave during ozzy anyway. I love ozzfest for the entire day of good music on 2 stages.
Ozzfest has been getting pretty lame anyway with all of those gay buttrock metal bands like Judas Priest and Iron Maiden anyway this 2008 not the 80s
